Frequently Asked Questions
What is BaZi (Four Pillars)?
BaZi (Four Pillars / 八字) maps elemental patterns from birth date and time across year, month, day, and hour pillars. Use it as a lens for reflection — for entertainment and self-exploration, not a fixed verdict. Accuracy depends on birth-time quality and is interpretive guidance, not prediction.
How does the EasternFate BaZi calculator work?
Enter birth date (and time if known). When a birthplace is entered, true solar time adjusts the birth hour by birthplace longitude. The free chart preview shows four pillars if the hour is known, three pillars if not, plus a Five Elements overview. Ten Gods detail, 10-year luck pillars (大运), Daily Insights, and thematic reading are not part of the free preview.
Is EasternFate free to use?
Free means a BaZi chart preview with no account required. Sign-up includes 10 credits and 7 days of Daily Insights, once per account. Thematic readings and advanced compatibility use credits (Starter) or Monthly (Start Monthly). Accuracy depends on birth-time quality and is interpretive guidance, not prediction.
What is the Daily Forecast feature?
Daily Forecast shows today's day pillar and how it may interact with your chart — for self-exploration. It is subscription / after registration, not part of the free chart preview.
Can BaZi help with love compatibility?
EasternFate compares two charts for compatibility themes and patterns (Day Master / Five Elements interaction) as a lens for reflection — not a prediction. Deeper pairing analysis, if offered, uses credits or subscription; it is not the free chart preview.
Is BaZi the same as Chinese astrology or the Chinese zodiac?
BaZi is more detailed than the year-only Chinese zodiac (生肖). It uses full birth datetime across four pillars for more personalised patterns. Both sit in Chinese metaphysics; BaZi is a deeper charting system, not a fixed life verdict.
What are the Five Elements in BaZi?
The Five Elements (五行) are Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. In BaZi they describe energies and tendencies in a chart. Element balance is a lens for reflection on strengths, weaker areas, and period themes — interpretive guidance, not prediction.
How accurate is the analysis?
Accuracy depends on birth-time quality and is interpretive guidance, not prediction. Celebrity pieces use public dates without hour. Hour unknown means three pillars only; readings may change with birth time.
Do I need to know my exact birth time?
Birth hour improves the chart. When the hour is unknown, we show three pillars only. A free chart preview is not a full thematic reading and does not include Daily Insights.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Absolutely. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Access remains until the end of your billing period.
